Spain - Costa Calida:

This coast of Murcia lives up to its name, the warm coast. The Costa Calida starts at the Mar Menor, the largest salt water lake in Europe with its excellent facilities for water sports and great beaches. The Mar Menor is almost enclosed by a narrow wedge of land that has been developed for sports and leisure use. The largest of these developments is called La Manga (the sleeve). The area is well served with flights from Britain to Murcia, Alicante and San Javier airports .Inland the area is rapidly becoming well know for its excellent wine and furniture production. The area is steeped in history with some fine Spanish towns to explore.

New developments are underway on the coast and in the mountains (snow capped in the winter) making this a very attractive alterative to the other Costa’s. The Spanish have been making this area their home for many years and they may know something about it!
